VETERAN BRISCOE DISCUSSES BLACK AND WHITES' PROGRESS

- By DAN TOMLINSON

We're doing really well considering where we were last season

Tom Briscoe has seen a lot of things in his long career.

He's been there and done that, setting records at Wembley, winning Super League titles, and playing for his country, but he's also been through some tough times, both at Hull FC and Leeds Rhinos.

You could place a safe bet that none of those times were as tough as Hull FC's 2024 season. But that draws both a sense of perspective and a drive for the future.

Returning to the club last year, Briscoe, who first debuted for Hull as a teenager in 2008, saw the state the club was in, but he's also seen it rise again this season - both on and off the field, with the club making progress - progress that brings confidence and a drive to kick on.

Finishing second bottom last year, only avoiding the wooden spoon on points difference, Hull had a woeful year. But this season they're in the mix and currently hold on to a play-off spot at exactly the halfway stage of the season. It's a position Briscoe is content with, but one he wants to maintain and improve on ahead of a big second half of the year.

"I think we're doing really well considering where we were last season," Briscoe, speaking to the Mail, said. "We had a great start to the year with some great performances and some great results.
