McNamara praise for Tomkins

STEVE McNamara hopes Catalans give his successor Joel Tomkins crucial support - and he hasn't ruled out switching codes for his next coaching job.
McNamara was sacked as Dragons head coach in May with his assistant Tomkins promoted to the top job on Tuesday. It surprised many given the former Wigan and England star, 38, had only won one of his eight games in interim charge and is a relative coaching rookie.
But ex-England chief McNamara, 53, said: “What Joel's got is experience both as a player and coach at Catalans Dragons which is really important, knowing the intricacies of the job.
“By that I mean, the travel, weather, language and culture.
