Connor promoted to number seven at Rhinos

BRAD Arthur has confirmed his Leeds Rhinos squad numbers for the 2026 Super League season, while also appointing Kallum Watkins as the club’s new vice captain to support skipper Ash Handley.

After his Man of Steel campaign, Jake Connor has been promoted to the number seven shirt at AMT Headingley Stadium, having formed a strong halves partnership with Brodie Croft, who remains in the six shirt.

Kallum Watkins takes the vacant 11 shirt following James Bentley's departure, while Keenan Palasia will don the starting loose forward shirt in 2026.

Cameron Smith has been handed the number 17.

New signings Ethan O'Neill, Jeremiah Mata'utia and Danny Levi will wear numbers 16, 19 and 23 respectively.

“I am delighted to make Ash our sole captain this season, I think that is right for where this squad is at present and gives us clear direction,” head coach Arthur said.
