UP unveils 27.36Lakh-crore budget ahead of LS elections

The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday presented a 27.36 lakh-crore state budget for 2024-25, which included new schemes worth 24,863.57 crore, ahead of parliamentary elections due later this year.
LUCKNOW: The annual budget, the eighth by the present dispensation across two terms, was devoted to Lord Ram for lok mangal (public welfare), UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath said. It was a step towards making Uttar Pradesh "a trillion dollar economy" in the coming years, he said, adding that the budget was the largest in the history of the state.
