Soren takes oath as CM, calls House session in Dec

Hemant Soren took oath as the 14th chief minister of Jharkhand on Thursday in a grand ceremony attended by top INDIA bloc leaders, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party leader Rahul Gandhi, days after his JMM-led alliance swept the state assembly elections.

He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Santhosh Kumar Gangwar.
Soon after beginning his fourth term as the chief minister, 49-year-old Soren said a special session of the state assembly will be held from December 9 to 12 and announced that ₹2,500 would be credited to the bank accounts of each woman beneficiary under Maiyan Samman Yojana from next month.
"This Jharkhand government will work day and night for all sections of people of Jharkhand including the poor, deprived and exploited," Soren wrote on X.
