Shah slams Mamata over cash-for-query and mimicry rows
Hindustan Times
|December 27, 2023
Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday launched a no-holds-barred attack on West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee as he targeted Trinamool Congress leaders over the cash-for-query case and the recent mimicry row.
-
Speaking to the party's IT cell workers in Kolkata, Shah referred to TMC leader Mahua Moitra, who was recently expelled from the Lok Sabha over the cash-for-query issue.
"Didi's MP shares her password with businessmen in exchange for gifts and now she is trying to safeguard that MP. How many questions were asked about the poor in Bengal? They will never do that because the poor cannot give them expensive gifts," he said.
Moitra has denied that a quid pro quo was involved but admitI to sharing her password.
