PSLV-C56 successfully places 7 Singaporean satellites into orbit

NEW DELHI: The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) on Sunday successfully launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C56) carrying seven Singaporean satellites, with the primary payload of the island nation's DS-SAR satellite, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre

"PSLV-C56/DS-SAR Mission: The mission is successfully accomplished. PSLV-C56 vehicle launched all seven satellites precisely into their intended orbits. Thanks to NSIL India and Singapore, for the contract," Isro tweeted after the launch.

The launch took place from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. "In the midst of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, Isro scaled another landmark with the successful launch of PSLV-C56/ DS-SAR," science minister Jitendra Singh said. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's consistent support has enabled team ISRO to register one success after the other in a serial form."
