Maharashtra bureaucrat's son Ashwajit Gaikwad, who was accused of running over his 26-year-old girlfriend in Thane district earlier this week, was arrested on Sunday, along with two others, a police officer familiar with the case said, adding that the vehicles used in the crime have also been seized.

The arrest comes a day after the victim, Priya Singh, alleged that she was severely injured after Ashwajit allegedly attacked her following an argument on December 11.
