Health Official Writes To Prez Challenging Her Suspension

The director of Delhi government's family welfare department, Vandana Bagga, who also holds additional charge as director general of health services (DGHS), has written to President Droupadi Murmu challenging her suspension, calling it "arbitrary" and alleging that the action was taken with political motives ahead of the 2025 Delhi assembly elections.
Bagga alleged that her suspension was "not in the spirit of fair elections" and could potentially benefit a political party.
On Tuesday, an order issued by vigilance special secretary Dr Ajay Kumar Bisht noted that a disciplinary inquiry was being initiated. According to reports, the health secretary alleged that Bagga had obstructed departmental schemes instead of performing her duties.
