While Potterheads are excited about the Harry Potter television series going on floors this year, controversy has erupted over the casting of a pivotal character-Severus Snape, made unforgettable by actor Alan Rickman in the movie series.

Soon after the makers announced on Monday that British actor Paapa Essiedu will play Snape, social media was abuzz with heated debates. While some users criticised a Black actor being cast as Snape, others said they are looking forward to the new spin on the story.
