Golfer moves HC over Qutab course structure

A member of the Qutab Golf Course, which is maintained by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), has filed a petition in the Delhi high court after the authority allowed the construction of a structure on the premises of the course.

The petition, filed by golfer Amita Jalta, said the construction violates the agreement between DDA and the contractor that allowed for a temporary structure. It also pointed out that unlike sports complexes, golf courses need a "serene eco-sensitive environment" and a "clear view that will be obstructed if a tall structure is erected".

DDA did not officially respond to queries for comments on the development. However, officials said the authority has issued multiple show cause notices to the contractor to remove concrete structures from the area.
