Capital's streets, markets, and events become a vibrant showcase of how fashion and patriotism intertwine.

In the days before August 15, markets burst into colour. Stalls overflow with dupattas, scarves, bangles, and kurtas in patriotic hues. Tailors work overtime, and fabric shops stock extra saffron and green cloth. From bustling bazaars to modest pavement vendors, everyone joins the festive rush. This fashion is not dictated by runways- it belongs equally to schoolchildren, shopkeepers, and professionals.

THE COLOURS THAT CONNECT

Saffron for courage, white for peace, green for growth- together they speak of unity. Delhiites use these shades in creative ways: a white kurta with a saffron dupatta and green bangles, saris edged with tricolour borders, or casual t-shirts paired with patriotic wristbands. Even those indifferent to fashion find themselves participating, drawn by the sense of belonging the colours evoke.
