Barapullah Ph 3 construction to enter its 10th yr

WORK ON THE PHASE 3 OF THE PROJECT BEGAN IN APRIL 2015, WITH A TARGET TO FINISH WORK BY OCT 2017
The construction of the Barapullah phase 3 elevated road, which will connect Mayur Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan via a 3.5-km bridge, is set to enter its tenth year this April, as the project continues to face hurdles and delays.
Separately, Public Work Department (PWD) officials admitted that the project — which will boost trans-Yamuna connectivity in the city — is unlikely to be completed in 2025.
Officials said work on the Barapullah phase 3 began in April 2015, and the project was expected to be completed by October 2017.
However, land acquisition issues, followed by the Covid-19 pandemic, led to multiple delays, they said.
