NEW DELHI: The race to sign Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Kylian Mbappe has just got way hotter than anyone could have imagined with Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal submitting a formal bid of €300 million

Al-Hilal make €300mn offer for PSG's Mbappe

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano made the revelation on Twitter before The Athletic published a similar report soon after.

That Mbappe wants to leave PSG doesn't come as a surprise. According to reports, he has refused to sign a contract extension with the French champions with his contract scheduled to end next year.

The club also left Mbappe out of their squad for their pre-season tour of Japan, determined to sell him unless he signs a new contract.

Earlier this month, the club's president, Nasser al-Khelaifi, said: "If Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract. We don't want to lose the best player in the world for free; we can't do that."
