A BENCH LED BY CJI BHUSHAN R GAVAI TOOK STRONG OBJECTION TO THE STATEMENTS MADE AGAINST THE HC JUDGE
The Supreme Court on Tuesday came down hard upon a litigant and his lawyers for making scurrilous allegations against a sitting high court judge.
The judge concerned was deciding a case filed by the litigant against Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy and issued contempt notices to them.
The court was dealing with a petition filed by N Peddi Raju who had filed a complaint under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 against Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy and others.
He filed a transfer petition seeking transfer of the case outside Telangana, making scurrilous allegations against justice Moushmi Bhattacharya hearing the matter.
A bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Bhushan R Gavai took strong objection to statements made against the judge.
