SAIL must respect local sentiment: CS

Underlining that the management of the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Bokaro unit, must address issues in coordination with the local administration and establish consultative communication, Jharkhand chief secretary (CS) Alka Tiwari told the central public sector unit (PSU) officials to ensure that they honour the sentiments of the locals, officials said on Monday.

According to the officials, the directions were given during a high-level meeting between chief secretary Tiwari and SAIL chairman Amrendra Prakash, where several issues related to the Bokaro plant were deliberated, including displacement, unused land usage, and employment opportunities in light of the steel plant's future expansion.
