Livelihood camp held in Belgarhia: Officials

The Dhanbad district administration organised a special ivelihood-focused camp on Monday in the newly developed Belgarhia township to address existing gaps in the resettlement process by creating sustainable self-employment opportunities, officials said.

During the initiative, led by the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) team in collaboration with the Jharia Rehabilitation and Development Authority (JRDA), officials engaged with residents of Belgarhia to provide detailed information on two livelihood schemes—fishery and mushroom cultivation.

Shailesh Tiwari, team leader of DMET, said, “The joint team from DMFT's Project Management Unit and JRDA held extensive discussions with locals to introduce them to the proposed livelihood models. The camp is part of a broader effort to ensure meaningful integration of displaced families into the economic mainstream.”
