Raj inks pacts for sustainable financial development

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan government has inked memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with HUDCO, Bank of Baroda, and GoR-REC Limited for financial assistance in various infra and power projects to ensure a sustainable financial growth, officials said during the second day of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 on Tuesday.

State finance secretary Debasish Prusty said: "We recently received a ₹1 lakh crore MoU from HUDCO for a financial assistance to set up power generation plants, metro, airports, and roads in a sustainable way. Another MoU was also signed with the GoR-REC Limited of about ₹50,000 crore to develop several water infra projects in the state while the Bank of Baroda has also signed a ₹20,000 crore MoU with us to develop several infra projects fostering sustainable developments."

Highlighting the state's challenges to develop a sustainable financing model, Prusty said the state aims to emphasise on climate vulnerability and water scarcity in the state when it comes to sustainable financing development.
