Constable Sunil Bishnoi, who was grievously injured in an attack by the sand mafia in Jodhpur's Luni area, died late Tuesday night, sparking a political outcry with leader of opposition Tikaram Jully demanding Bishnoi be posthumously given martyr status, state honours and financial compensation to his family along with strict action against those responsible.
JAIPUR: Constable Sunil Bishnoi, who was grievously injured in an attack by the sand mafia in Jodhpur's Luni area, died late Tuesday night, sparking a political outcry with leader of opposition Tikaram Jully demanding Bishnoi be posthumously given martyr status, state honours and financial compensation to his family along with strict action against those responsible.
On Sunday, the constable was critically injured after being run over by a dumper allegedly involved in illegal river sand transportation in the Luni police station area.
