HC raps probe agency over delay in Sanjivani credit society case

The Rajasthan high court has criticised the investigating agency over the prolonged detention of accused people in the multi-crore Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society case and directed the state government to submit a clear report on the applicability of the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Act, 2019 (BUDS Act) in the pending cases.
JODHPUR:
The special operations group (SOG) of Rajasthan police and various police stations registered multiple cases against the accused under different legal provisions, including the BUDS Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Eighteen petitions, including one by Devi Singh, challenged the applicability of the BUDS Act in these cases, leading to the high court's strong observations.
