Witkoff to meet Putin today after 'productive' Kyiv talks

US envoy Steve Witkoff on Monday held a new meeting with Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov, the country’s security council secretary, in Florida, sources told AFP.

“Umerov and Witkoff are meeting now again,” the source said, adding “there are still questions” on a US-led plan aimed at ending the war.

The Kremlin on Monday said that Witkoff will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday afternoon. “The meeting with Witkoff is planned for tomorrow,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, including from AFP, in a briefing on Monday, adding that it will take place “in the second half of the day.”
