UCC Rules Apply To Residents Living Outside State As Well

The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be applicable to all residents of the state irrespective of whether they are staying in the state or not, the government said in a statement, claiming that UCC has been enacted with the objective of giving priority to "social harmony" and "protection of personal rights."
DEHRADUN:
An official familiar with the rules said that even if a person of Uttarakhand origin is living outside the state and is a resident of the state, he or she will have to register the UCC.
