Hindustan Times Patna
|July 17, 2025
Drawing lessons from murders of industrialist Gopal Khemka, advocate Jitendra Kumar Mehta and private school owner Ajit Kumar, Patna police have decided to set up a contract killer cell to combat the new trend of hiring young shooters to carry out crime.
"The cell will have a database of old sharpshooters and contract killers, and it will maintain the record of visitors to jails and keep constant vigil," said ADG (headquarters) Kundan Krishnan. He said of an estimated 80-lakh population of Patna district, around 30 lakh lived in the towns and of them around five lakh were estimated to be youth.
