Central govt gives awaited nod to Buxar-Bhagalpur expressway

The Central government has in principle approved the much-awaited 330-km-long Buxar-Bhagalpur expressway project, which was announced in the Union Budget early this year.
PATNA: The project is estimated to cost around ₹13,000 crore.
Deputy chief minister-cum-road construction minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Saturday said that it would be a greenfield project and detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) very soon.
"Along with it, the Union ministry of road transport and highways (MoRTH) has also approved the greenfield alignment of Gorakhpur-Silliguri expressway, costing around ₹37,465 crore," said Sinha, adding that the project was cleared by the centre at a high-level meeting held on Thursday.
