Bihar truckers to observe token strike on March 2-3

Truckers, owing allegiance to the Bihar Truck Owners' Association (BTOA), have decided to put their vehicles off-roads on March 2 and 3 as a token protest against the state government's alleged approach of not sticking to its commitments to facilitate smooth running of the trade.

BTOA president Bhanu Shekhar Prasad Singh said the government refused to honour its promises given to them by deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha during his meeting on November 22 last year. "We had agreed to follow all rules stipulated by the mining department, and in reply received the assurance to ease the procedural wrangles for smooth operation of trucks," claimed Singh.
