Man found dead days after wife’s suicide; mother tries to end life

A man was found dead in a hotel room in Nagpur early Saturday, hours after his mother attempted suicide and three days after his wife died by suicide at her parental home in Bengaluru, the police said.
The man, 32, was found hanged from a ceiling fan at the Royal Villa hotel on Wardha Road near the airport. His mother attempted to end her life on Friday and is in critical condition at a hospital. The mother-son duo had checked in a day earlier after fleeing the city following protests by his wife's relatives.
The incidents follow the death of the man's 26-year-old wife, who was found hanged at her parental home on Wednesday. Her family has registered a dowry death case accusing the husband and his relatives of harassment, though the marital dispute appears to have stemmed from discord between the couple when they were on honeymoon in Sri Lanka.
