Bihar verdict shows people have rejected casteism: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, asserting that the NDA's overwhelming mandate in Bihar reflected the voters' rejection of the "poison of casteism" propagated by the Opposition.

"The country has rejected this Muslim League-Maoist-Congress, the MMC. There are people in the Congress party who have grown up with nationalist ideology, those who have worked under the leadership of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. A very large section of such Congress leaders are unhappy with the conduct of these dynasts. They say that no one can save the Congress now ... this is the state of affairs. People who ruled like a monopoly for 50-60 years have been, in a decade or two, finished off in this manner," the PM said, addressing an event in Gujarat's Surat.
