Navi Mumbai builder dies by suicide, blames NCB for 'harassing' him

A family friend said the builder was under immense stress as NCB officials summoned him several times and treated him as a suspect in his son's drug trafficking case

NAVI MUMBAI: A prominent builder from Belapur died by suicide on Friday, reportedly overwhelmed by the ongoing investigation into his elder son's alleged involvement in international drug trafficking.

Police said the incident took place between 6.30 am and 6.45 am at the builder's office, located in the same building as his residence. He allegedly shot himself with a 9 mm pistol. A relative discovered the body and informed authorities.

Investigators recovered two notes from the scene — a detailed letter addressed to senior politicians and police officials, and a handwritten chit believed to have been written moments before his death.
