Police in an Odisha village have launched a probe after videos of a mob tying a couple to a wooden yoke and forcing them to plough a field, as a means of punishment for marrying against the wishes of the community, emerged on social media.
The incident, which took place in Kanjamajhira village of Rayagada district a week ago, came to light on Friday when the videos emerged on social media. In the video, people can be seen tying the couple to the yoke and forcing them to plough the field while they also beat them with wooden sticks.
