Police teams formed to nab absconding accused

The police are trying to locate the mastermind behind the racket after a Prayagraj girl was rescued from Kerala where she had been taken, forcibly converted to Islam and pressured into joining alleged jihadi training, officials privy to the matter said.

While two accused in the case, Darksha Bano and Mohammad Kaif, have been arrested, the police are trying to track down the absconding third accused, Mohammad Taj. Several police teams have been formed to trace Taj.

"Efforts are on to arrest Mohammad Taj," confirmed DCP, Trans Ganga, Kuldeep Singh Gunawat.

He said three police teams had been formed to investigate the case, adding that more names have surfaced during interrogation of the two accused.

All the three accused are in the age group of 19 to 25 years. The police are trying to find out who among the three was in touch with one or more terror outfits.
