Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Congress planned Vidhan Bhavan gherao and protest march, the Madiyaon police on Tuesday served a notice to party spokesperson Anshu Awasthi, citing Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and instructing him to remain at home on Wednesday.

"Barricades with spikes have been set up outside our state office, but neither the notice nor the barricades will stop our protest," Awasthi said in a statement.
