Sukhu: Will urge Centre to start Mansarovar yatra from Kinnaur

DHARAMSHALA: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Saturday that he will soon take up the issue of commencing Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through Shipki-La in Kinnaur district with the Centre.
Sukhu was presiding over a meeting with General Officer Commanding in Chief Central Command, Lucknow and Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has religious significance for Hindus, Jains and Buddhists. Thousands of pilgrims visit Kailash Mansarovar, a tradition rooted in centuries of spiritual heritage, every year. The chief minister said pilgrims can enter Tibet through Shipki-La as it offers a viable route for them.
