Violence breaks out in Haridwar after minor girl abducted: Police

Tension prevailed at Laksar in Haridwar on Sunday after members of two communities hurled stones at each other on Sunday, a day after two people were booked for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl, officers aware of the matter said.

DEHRADUN:
Superintendent of police (rural) Haridwar Sekhar Chandra Suyal said that around 50-100 people gathered at Baditeep village over the kidnapping case, following which members of the two communities started throwing stones at each other. Police dispersed the crowd and brought the situation under control, he added.
