Satpula Lake, adjoining STP meet water-quality standards: DPCC to NGT

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has informed the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that fresh samples from south Delhi’s Satpula Lake and its adjoining sewage treatment plant (STP) now largely meet water-quality standards for propagation of wildlife fisheries, months after the agency first reported eutrophication (high algal bloom), and poor lake health.
The update follows the NGT's August direction for a fresh inspection after conflicting submissions: the DPCC had flagged untreated sewage and a nonfunctional STP, while the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) claimed the lake was receiving only treated water.
