Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth ₹58,000 crore as he relaunched the construction of the Andhra Pradesh capital Amaravati, which he said was not a mere city but "a dream come true".

will fulfil the dreams of the youth of Andhra Pradesh, becoming a leading city in sectors like artificial intelligence (AI), green energy, and industrial development," Modi said, assuring that the Centre would extend all possible support to the state government to speed up the works. Naidu and Pawan Kalyan are key allies of the Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre.

Modi said the construction of Amaravati was a beginning for the construction of Swarnandhra (Golden Andhra). "Swarnandhra will contribute strength to the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India). Amaravati will empower our Swarnandhra vision," he said.

Recalling the dream of former chief minister N T Rama Rao who had envisioned a prosperous Andhra Pradesh, Modi said it was the responsibility of the Centre, Naidu and Kalyan to make Amaravati and Andhra Pradesh the growth engine of 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India). "We have to do it and only we can do it," he said.

The Prime Minister launched various projects worth ₹5,028 crore, including Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO)'s missile testing centre at Nagayalanka worth ₹1,459 crore; Unity Mall at Visakhapatnam worth ₹100 crore; Guntakal-Mallappa Gate rail overbridge worth ₹293 crore and six new national highway projects worth ₹3,176 crore.
