The death of Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 76 has left members of the music industry community bereaved. The news was confirmed by his family on Tuesday. While Ozzy was battling a form of Parkinson’s, the cause has not been confirmed.
Nicknamed the Prince of Darkness in the 1970s, Ozzy came to be known as among the most iconic rock frontman, with his band Black Sabbath being a trailblazer in the heavy metal music scene. Both indie and mainstream musicians have been moved by this loss.
Subir Malik, founding member of Parikrama, almost cried after reading the news. “I woke up to the news and the emotions just took over me,” he tells us. Not only the music, Ozzy's stage presence and style made a deep impact on him:
“The round sunglasses I wear are because of Ozzy. I cannot even begin to explain what he meant to me growing up. There can never be another Ozzy.”
