Grand Namami Gange Yagna Held on National Youth Day

A day before the Paush Purnima in Mahakumbh, the Sangam banks witnessed an overwhelming surge of faith on Sunday as lakhs of devotees—youth, elderly, and children—gathered there to take a holy dip in the sacred waters.

The occasion also coincided with National Youth Day (Vivekananda Jayanti), further energising the youth, who embraced the festival as an opportunity to connect with their roots and traditions.

Bathing at the VIP Ghat and Sangam Nose, they captured and shared their moments, symbolising a blend of ancient faith and modern connectivity.

Hundreds of NSS volunteers took up responsibilities to help police in traffic management and guiding pilgrims in 25 sectors in which the mela area is spread.

The vibrant atmosphere reflected the essence of Sanatan culture, with devotees showcasing unwavering faith and joy, a government spokesperson said.

The Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) monitors every activity across Mahakumbh city, complemented by AI-enabled cameras for enhanced surveillance.
