The Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday transferred the probe into the alleged assault of army Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son by Punjab Police personnel in Patiala on March 13 to the Central Bureau of Investigation (cBn.
The bench of justice Rajesh Bhardwaj questioned the probe into the assault — which allegedly took place over a parking dispute — by the special investigation team (SIT) of Chandigarh Police, saying, “The special investigation team (of the police) is creating loopholes to give benefit of doubt to the accused officers.”
