CENTRE FINED FOR ‘CONCEALING' FACTS IN WANKHEDE CASE

The Delhi high court on Friday imposed a cost of ₹20,000 on the central government for “concealing” facts as it dismissed its petition seeking a review of the court's earlier order directing the promotion of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede to the post of joint commissioner of Customs and Indirect Taxes, if found eligible.
Wankhede had made headlines in 2021 after he arrested actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, while serving as the zonal director of the Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau.
