CHANDIGARH: Resolute against privatisation of Chandigarh's power sector, electricity employees continued their protest on Monday.

- HT Correspondent

In line with their demand of safeguarding their service conditions, the UT Powermen Union held gate meetings during lunch hours, opposing the issuance of the Letter of Intent (LoI) for transferring the government department to a private company "without adhering to proper procedures".

Addressing rallies at various offices, the union's general secretary, Gopal Dutt Joshi, asserted that the employees reject any changes to their service conditions. "We will fight till our last breath to safeguard the integrity and services of Chandigarh's electricity department," he said.
