Police Arrest Sixth Accused For Murder Of 19-Year-Old Girl In Maur

The district police have arrested another person in the alleged murder case of a 19-year-old girl whose body was recovered from a canal in Maur on Wednesday.

PATIALA: Health minister Dr Balbir Singh, during an inspection at Fatehgarh Sahib civil hospital on Thursday morning, found registration counters and outdoor patient department (OPD) rooms closed with the staff responsible for managing these services missing.

Following the inspection, director health and family welfare, Dr Hitinder Kaur, on the directions of the minister, served show-cause notices to the civil surgeon Dr Davinderjeet Kaur and senior medical officer (SMO) Dr KD Singh of the civil hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib, holding them accountable for administrative lapses. The notice directs the officials to submit their replies by the end of the day. The notice reads that the health minister found long queues of patients at the registration counters, and many OPD rooms were found locked with doctors missing.
