NDMA team inspects T’gana pharma blast site; 8 remain missing

An expert team of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) from New Delhi on Tuesday visited the premises of Sigachi Industries Ltd at Pashamylaram in Telangana’s Sangareddy district, which witnessed a massive explosion on June 30, people familiar with the matter said.

The death toll in the tragic incident mounted to 44 on Tuesday with two more workers succumbing to injuries. Eight workers are still missing, officials said. “The deceased were identified as Arif, who was receiving treatment at Panacea Hospital, and Akhileshwar, who was admitted at Dhruva Hospital,” a police officer from Patancheru said.
