Land being taken by govt forcefully: YSRCP

YSRCP leader and former minister Merugu Nagarjuna on Sunday condemned the TDP-led NDA government's alleged attempt to “forcibly acquire” 8,000 acres in Karedu village in Prakasam district.
Nagarjuna claimed that the government is moving ahead with land acquisition without public consent, putting farmers’ livelihoods at risk in the name of industrial development.
“Forcibly seizing farmers’ lands without their approval is not only unacceptable but sets a dangerous precedent,” the YSRCP leader said, addressing a press conference. He warned that it could lead to serious unrest.
