CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday said a decision on an alliance with the BJP will be taken closer to the Tamil Nadu elections in 2026. His remarks come amid a speculation over an electoral alliance after his meeting with Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Briefing reporters about the meeting, Palaniswami said his party brought to the notice of the minister several issues faced by Tamil Nadu. "We spoke to him about people's problems. We spoke in detail for 45 minutes. Tamil Nadu is heading in the wrong direction," he said.
