Nod to 3rd-party certification for factory building plans approval

The Punjab Cabinet on Thursday gave its nod to third-party and self-certification for approval of building plans of factories.
CHANDIGARH:
The decision was taken in the meeting of the council of ministers chaired by chief minister Bhagwant Mann at his official residence in Chandigarh.
Divulging details, a spokesperson of the CM office said that under the Factories Act, 1948 the building plan of any factory was approved as per bylaws and the process took a lot of time, money and energy. When a factory is established outside the municipal area, the labour department passes these plans.
