£4k raised at community festival supporting reopening of pool
Herald Express
|July 09, 2025
HUNDREDS of people turned out for a sun-drenched day of music, food and fundraising at the Meadowbrook Extravaganza on Sunday, June 29, raising around £4,000 to support the reopening of the Dartington Swimming Pool.
The event, organised by the Dartington Recreation Association (DRA), drew large crowds to Meadowbrook Park for a packed family-friendly festival in aid of restoring the much-loved local pool, which has been closed since 2022 due to disrepair.
Highlights included a lively family dog show, DJ sets by Ru Davies and Chris Hall, a performance by the Bidwell Brook Taiko drummers, and children's entertainment from rap duo Nursery Grime.
Supporters could also enjoy wood-fired sauna sessions at the Somewhere Sauna, massages by Sabrina Hall, a football tournament hosted by Totnes and Dartington FC, and a variety of children's activities provided by Totnes Castles.
