'Set-jetting' a popular trend for UAE-based travellers

A large number of UAE-based travellers are planning their vacations to filming locations of recently nominated films and critically acclaimed TV shows.
They are eager to explore the real-life locations behind their favourite movies and TV shows, from the historic streets of Rome to the tropical beaches of Thailand.
These destinations are seeing a significant rise in searches following their cinematic releases recently. Rehan Asad, Group Vice President at Expedia Group spoke to Gulf Today on the latest trends among the UAE residents, planning their trips for short or long vacations.
"The set-jetting trend, forecast in Expedia's Unpack 2025 travel trends, continues to gain momentum, with travellers eager to explore the real-life locations behind their favourite movies and TV shows.
