'Red Carpet Walkway' in arrivals hall at Dubai Airport
Gulf Today
|September 02, 2025
The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has announced the Al powered 'Red Carpet Walkway' is operational in the arrivals hall at Dubai Airport.
This initiative highlights the emirate’s pioneering role in adopting cutting-edge technology within the aviation industry, further establishing Dubai as a premier global travel destination.
Brigadier Waleed Ahmed Saeed, Acting Assistant Director General for Airports at GDRFA, revealed that the new corridor is the first of its kind in the world, combining the highest security standards with the latest artificial intelligence and biometric identification technologies.
He further explained that the system uses advanced smart cameras to recognise facial and iris prints, linking them directly to travellers’ data in Dubai Airports’ systems.
