As another Holy Month of Ramadan - a time of introspection - passes, Southeast Asian members of the 11.3 million diverse UAE population, including visitors, share what they have learnt or re-learnt not only from the immediate past Holy Month of Ramadan; but, through all the Holy Months of Ramadan that they have held near and are looking forward to carrying these throughout.
Consultancy specialist in Abu Dhabi April Manipis from Batangas Province in the Philippines said: “Ramadan instills taqwa, guiding me to by each oath with integrity. It reminds me that breaking flows through faith, patience and humility as I strive to align my goals in my life and specifically in my line of work.”
Visiting University of Indonesia college student Hasan, consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia-Dubai said, “Ramadan is indeed a blessed and transformative month, offering numerous opportunities for spiritual growth and personal development. I have learnt to dedicate myself to prayer, cherish remembrance of Allah, increase the Quran, nurturing a deeper connection with Allah and reinforcing my faith. Additionally, I commit myself to doing good and helping others, that embodies the essence of Ramadan which emphasises compassion, generosity and community support.”
