Man jailed for 2 months, fined Dhs6,400 for fraud

An Asian national, convicted with unknown accomplices, stole Dhs6,400 from another person after impersonating a bank employee.

The Misdemeanour and Violations Court in Dubai convicted him, sentenced him to two months in jail, fined him the amount stolen, and ordered his deportation after serving his sentence.
The incident dates back to March 2024 when an Arab filed a report stating that he had been defrauded and Dhs6,400 was stolen from him.
He explained that he received a call from the suspect, who claimed to be a bank employee and alleged that he was updating bank account information electronically to prevent account suspension.
